been recovered but it has been a very busy week. this is how it all happened according to the fbi. they would be searching an abandoned well associated with the speed freak killers. this 10 x 13 area was cleared. wednesday, they announced that they were going to go into 75 ft. in the ground. late thursday, they announced that they hit the bottom and thatthis year, the f.b.i has taken over the case. and is day five of this search and there is still lots of work to be done pam when it comes to looking for victims of these guys.the speed freak killers. at this point no human remains have been recovered but it has been a busy week. >> pam: a second person has now been sentenced in a richmond gang- rape case which made national headlines. ari morales - who was sixteen at the time of the crime - will spend 27 -years behind bars. police say, morales, along with five others, sexually assualted a teen girl outside a homecoming dance back in 2009. four other suspects have yet to stand trial. morales accepted a shorter sentence in exchange for a guilty plea. >> pam: several people were taken

. now the f.b.i has taken over and they're searching a new well. kron-4's j-r stone is here with the story. the this is a link to wesleyan shermantine.. with a major setback the bottom of the well has been reached. at 200 ft. below the surface that is where they have not found any human remains. with to wondered feet deep is a huge blow to the fbi. 2 1/3 feet deep, they thought that this was only 50 ft. deep. now, they've already gone 200 ft. deep. there is now, water at the bottom of the wealth that has to be drained. to trade that, that-water at the bottom. but more drain efforts is going to even be more expensive. but it is likely going to go up with this well is four times deeper than they are rigidly in thought. once they clear that out they can see what they thought that it was four times deeper than they are were originally thought but that could take several more days. at this point, we are not even talking about sifting for human remains. j. r. stone, kron 4 news. >> more developing news tonight. new information tonight about damage to the bay bridge after that tank

been found in this new dig. the work the f-b-i is doing now is more preliminary they're setting up a 40- foot work area for crews to safely work in. you can see all of the experts there on the ground. they are starting to go through that dirt. crews aren't actually digging into the well. they are digging at the areas around the abandoned well. crews who are out there are going to be hand sifting through the actual well. one that is 5 feet in diameter. this is a 50 foot deep wellsomething that is going to keep them busy for at least two weeks. >> a historic artifact valued at more than 800- thousand dollars was stolen from the oakland museum of california during a break in and burglary on monday. the object stolen -- a gold rush-era quartz and gold box with ornamentation depicting early california. this is the museums second break-in in two months. a reward is being offered for the safe recovery of the artifact. >> jacqueline: of we will crop to dense fog and already reduced visibility. i just to not think we're going to see as much as resell last night. with reduced visibility right now

if something like what the fbi did and had a director position that was appointed for fixed 10 year terms would be above the political fray. also critically important for jurisdictions to have access to crime gun information. you want to publish as they did before national crime gun tracing report with city level analyses of crime. it was very important have academic involvement in those, the production of those reports, some of the special analyses. and i can't say that enough. the magic between having actual investigators with detailed knowledge about criminal enterprises operate collaborating with academics, but the ability to bring an outside eye, analytic tools, and an unbiased perspective of what's going on, the knowledge that is greater. so clearly we establishing that and also some of the reforms, tiahrt amendment, allowing cdc and in that age to fund a gun research and maybe expanding funding for research would be important as well. so if we're able to, some of these, it would be great to do all these policy recommendations, i think a lot of the obstacles necessary for effective invest
